Soca river between Bovec and Trnovo, in
Slovenia, near the Italian border (where the
name changes in Isonzo), is one of the best and
most challenging downriver racing venues in the
world.
This wonderful, incontaminated area, not far
from Triglav National Park, is a very popular
kayak tourism destination (Soca river is
normally full of plastic playboats), and the
river is open to paddlers from mid-April to
mid-October.
This video shows a resume of the 1991 world
championships for canadians C1 (world title won
by the Yugoslav Crnkovic) and C2 (the French
Archambault and Carlin became world Champions).
Really a great show! |
